Easy Ribbon!

So, here is my very first YouTube video! It shows how to easily attach ribbon using the Crop-a-Dile!

Here are quick instructions for those who do not wish to watch the video:

1. Using your Crop-a-Dile, punch a hole in the card where you want to place your ribbon.
2. Place your ribbon where you want it, and punch a hole in the middle of your ribbon.
3. Pick an eyelet, it doesn't matter what color, place it through the ribbon and card and set it with the Crop-a-Dile.
4. Tie the ribbon into a bow!
5. Now the bow is securely attached!

Sunday Sketch & Stamp - First Challenge!!

It's time for the very first challenge at Sunday Sketch & Stamp! Woo hoo!

We're having a blog hop today (26th April) to mark the launch of the site, so if you'd like to join in then hop back on over to the SSS blog where you'll find all the instructions and the link to the first blog to visit.

If you're already joining in the blog hop, you should have come to my blog from Barb's Blog at Made For Keeps (and if you didn't, you've made a mistake, oops, and need to go back to SSS and start again...sorry!). My blog hop question is: "What is my all time favorite Sizzix Die?". You'll find the answer somewhere on my blog, so be sure to have a good look around! When you've found the answer, write it down and then hop on over to Arianne's blog, at Het leven van een scrappende juf, where you can see her wonderful DT card and the next question and blog hop link.

So, onto the challenge! Maggie, our fearless leader, has come up with a fantastic sketch for our very first SSS challenge and here is my take on it:

Good luck, have fun, and thanks for playing along with us - we can't wait to see what you create!

Help Needed/Blog Candy!

I am giving away my first blog candy! This blog candy has a very significant cause for my family! My 2 older boys Devin - 16 and Dylan - 14 have made it onto their local Improvathon 2009 team through their local Christian Youth Theater group. They will be going to Portland, OR this summer for 1 week. This means plane tickets, room and board, and a little spending money. We just don't have enough to cover everything! I decided to think outside the box and see if I could get some donations. I would welcome the opportunity in the future to be able to "pay it forward."

In order to get this post going around the web, I am offering some blog candy!! This blog candy consists of THREE gift certificates to my Stampin' Up store as follows:

First prize: $20 gift certificate

Second Prize: $10 gift certificate

Third Prize: $5 gift certificate

Ways to enter:

1 entry if you donate ANY amount by clicking on the DONATE button on the right.

1 entry if you:
  1. Post about this blog candy on your blog - either in a post or on the side bar, either way is fine with me!:)
  2. Make sure you put a comment on this message so that I know you have done this! :)
An extra entry if you follow my blog! :)

This blog candy will end on May 3rd and I will choose and post the winner on May 4th! Thanks so much for participating and God Bless!!:)

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

So, Lindsay of Lindsay's Stamp Stuff was kind enough to let me try out one of her new digital stamps! I printed the image 3 times onto Whisper White card stock. I used Stampin' Pastels and Blender pens on one, Inks and Blender Pens on one, and then I used Inks, Blender Pens, Versa Marker, and clear embossing powder on the last one! So, what do you think? I think maybe I should have let the images dry a little more, but all in all I am happy with it.

Just Christmas and Birthday Cards/Color Inspiration #49

Ok, so, I don't have the EXACT colors, but I improvised!;) And I did use the Basic Black and Pacific Point INKS, if that counts!;) So, anyway, this card is for Just Christmas & Birthday Cards challenge AND Color Inspiration #49. Enjoy!:)

Saturday Scrap Book Club

I started a scrapbooking club at my church that meets every other Saturday! Sometimes I scrap there and other times I make cards! This last Saturday, I made cards, and my 8 year old son Xander helped!:) All of the owl and bird cards are the ones Xander made! He used the Stampin' Pastels and Blender Pens to color all the bird images in! He had so much fun!:)

Card Mess-up

So, I made this card that I thought turned out so beautiful, and then... lol

I was messing with my stamp around ink, putting it into the handle, and the darn thing rolled right out of my hand across the front of the card I had just made!! :( Oh well! It's ok, I will just make another one! But I thought I would post the card anyway... mess up and all... I figure, we humans are supposed to make mistakes and not be perfect, and sometimes we need to SHOW this so everyone knows that EVERYONE makes mistakes! :)

Stamp With Us challenge

So, I made this card for the Stamp With Us sketch challenge as well as Challenge 13 for Late Night Stampers. Hope you enjoy this mini tutorial!

Supplies needed:
Card Stock - Whisper White, Yoyo Yello, Real Red, and Tempting Turquoise
Ink Colors - Pacific Point, Pixie Pink, Basic Black, Going Gray, and Real Red
Big Shot and Top Note Die
Stamp Sets - Love Owl-ways and Owl Together Now
Other - Ribbon of some sort, Stampin' Pastels, Blender Pens, Crop-a-Dile and one eyelet, Scallop Punch, Snail adhesive, Stamping Sponges, Stamp-a-Ma-Jig

Cut Whisper White card stock to 10" x 6" fold to 5" x 6". Cut 2 pieces using the Top Note Die: 1 out of Whisper White, 1 out of Real Red. Tear off the edge of the Whisper White piece to make jagged edge, then using your sponge dipped in Going Gray ink, sponge all edges of this piece. Using Snail, adhere this piece to the Real Red Top Note die cut.

Cut Yoyo Yellow 4 3/4" x 3 1/2". Using distressing tool, edge of bone folder or fingernail to distress edges of this piece. Using sponge dipped in Real Red, sponge edges of this piece. Adhere to right side of card.

On left side of card, using Pacific Point ink, stamp owls from Owl Together Now down left side. Use Blender pens and ink pads and/or Stampin' Pastels to color in owls.

On Whisper White Top Note die cut, using the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig, and Basic Black inkpad, stamp the mailbox and owl from Love Owl-ways where you want it. Also stamp hearts using the 3 heart stamp from Owl Together Now. Color these all in with Blender pens, ink pads and Stampin' Pastels.

Adhere the Top Note piece over the Yoyo Yellow as shows in picture. Adhere ribbon along bottom. I used Snail to ahdere the ribbon.

Using Scallop punch, punch out one scallop from Tempting Turquoise card stock. Layer this over the ribbon and aline Crop-a-Dile punch in center and punch hole. Add eyelet with Crop-a-Dile. Using Pacific Point inkpad and Stamp-a-Ma-Jig, stamp "love owl-ways!" on the bottom half of the Scallop.

If you have any questions, please let me know!:)
